The Deals, Discussions, and Connections That Defined Summer Expo 2026

The Summer Investor Capital Expo 2026 returned to Seattle on August 19 and 20, bringing the angel investment and family office community back to the Washington Athletic Club following the April Expo. With the event also livestreamed on Zoom, the Summer Expo welcomed 681 investors in person and online, generating 1,084 registered investment interests for 18 exceptional early-stage companies. Over two days, the Expo created a dynamic environment for deep conversations, high-quality investment opportunities, and collaboration across the capital community.

Here’s how the two-day extravaganza unfolded:

Day 1: Connecting Investors & Expanding Opportunities

The Expo opened with The Family Office Forum, a dedicated gathering for family offices, investment funds, corporate investors and partners, and high-net-worth individuals in North America. The entire day was designed to promote collaboration and thought leadership between investors and entrepreneurs.

At the heart of the day was the Power Matching Exchange and Speed Dating event, an exclusive one-on-one format that connected presenting company CEOs with attending investors. Through tailored meetings and networking opportunities, participants could explore potential investments, partnerships, and long-term relationships.

The day also featured a strong lineup of keynotes and panel discussions. Jimmy Ralph opened with “An Entrepreneur’s Journey,” sharing perspectives from the entrepreneurial path. The CVC Investment Panel, featuring Shohei Yamada, Dylan Boyd, Walt Gall, and Josh Roach, explored the corporate venture capital landscape. The Cultivating the NextGen Family Office Panel, with Trey Natherson and Athina Filippopoulos, examined the evolution and future of family offices.

The Family Office Investment Outlook Panel brought together Bryant Hayward, SooMan Wolffs, Amanda Reed, Anurag Chandra and Gordon Chan to discuss investment perspectives and opportunities shaping the family office landscape.

The day concluded with Ben Spievak delivering “The Founding Decade: Why the Next Ten Years Set the Next Hundred,” offering a forward-looking perspective on the opportunities ahead.

Day 2: Showcasing the Next Generation of Companies

Day 2 was the big day, the Investor Capital Expo, where the spotlight shifted to entrepreneurs and investment opportunities, with 18 companies presenting across technology, healthcare and life sciences, consumer products, real estate, and other emerging sectors.

Alongside the company presentations, the Expo featured insights from experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry leaders. Holly Uber explored “The Curiosity Edge,” while Kristina Montague provided an “ACA 2026 Update & Angel Funders Report Update.” Steven Woolston delivered the “PitchBook 2026 Update.”

Steve Wasik shared “The VKTRY Story: The Journey, the Exit & the Lessons Learned,” while Alex Mojtahedi discussed “The intelligence layer for global startup discovery, prediction, and engagement.”

The Expo concluded with the fireside chat “MOTO – Unleashed!”, featuring Lee Kendell, CEO & Founder of Moto Pizza, in conversation with moderator Rob Ricciardelli.

Recognizing the Community

The Expo also celebrated the people and companies who stood out to the investor community. The Most Valued Company awards, determined by investor votes during the Expo, recognized Mussel Polymers (Winner), Sinaptica Therapeutics (Runner-up), and OtoNexus Medical Technologies and Azure Printed Homes (Joint Second Runner-ups) as the standout companies of the day.

Jonathan Blackwell was named Most Valued Member in recognition of his contributions and engagement within the community.

From family office connections and one-on-one meetings to company pitches, expert insights, and community recognition, the Summer Investor Capital Expo 2026 was ultimately about bringing the right people together in one room. With 681 investors participating in person and via Zoom, the two-day event demonstrated the value of creating spaces where capital, ideas, and relationships can come together—and where the next opportunity can begin with a conversation.
